Minister Gashi attends the Conference "Human Security, Problem and Institutional Reaction"

The Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports through the Department of Youth, held today the confer-ence "Human Security, Problem and Institutional Reaction".

The conference focused on the importance of the role of civil society in preventing extremism and violent radicalism, trafficking hu-man beings, juvenile delinquency, challenges and institutional response.

On this occasion, the Minister Kujtim Gashi presented the policies of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports on the human security of young people in Kosovo, specifically on the new national strategy for youth 2018-2022. He said that this strategy has been drafted by the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports in order to prevent the spread of negative phenomena that affect the safety and well-being of youth.

Minister Gashi spoke about the transparency and accountability of the work of civil society organizations, i.e. youth organizations and youth centers of Kosovo municipalities, with which contracted contracts were made. "Today we will also appreciate the work and commitment, the rec-ommendations that have come out directly from hundreds, thousands of young people throughout Kosovo, through projects supported by MCYS", said Minister Gashi.

"Events such as TV campaigns, radio debates, discussion tables in different municipalities, distribution of printed materials and their presentation in social networks and electronic media have seen that they have had a direct effect on awareness raising and awareness raising of youth and the community in general", said Gashi.

He also said that his goal as a minister was to create a safe environment for young people. "In addition to the family as an important nucleus of the proper functioning of the social system, now-adays a great part of the burden falls on civil society organizations, especially the Youth Organizations. For this purpose MCYS will support them and various initiatives that deal with the promotion of safe environment through grants on an annual basis. Support will not be confined to awareness of the im-portance of having a secure environment within Kosovo, but also for other regional and international initiatives, "concluded Minister Kujtim Gashi.
