Prime Minister Mustafa awarded the prize "Azem Shkreli"to the writer Arif Demolli

Today, on the eve of the eighth anniversary of the independence of Kosovo, in an official ceremony held in the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, which was attended by the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Isa Mustafa, Minister of Culture Kujtim Shala, professional jury, as well as this year's laureates, where annual prizes for literature were awarded, and which are handed out every year by the MCYS.

Prime Minister Mustafa highly praised the event and said that the book and culture, will have the custody of the Government of Kosovo.

This year's laureate of the National Prize on Life’s Work, based on the evaluation of the jury, is the writer, Arif Demolli, while the award was handed out by the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Isa Mustafa.

Whereas, the award for the best work in prose "Anton Pashku" has been received by the writer Rexhep Muretez Shala, on the work "Anonim Profan Wor(l)d".

Prize for the best work in poetry "Ali Podrimja" was won by Ervina Halili, on the poetic work "Amuletë".

Prize for the best literary work for children and young people, "Vehbi Kikaj" was received by Abdullah Thaqi, on the work "Kalaja e fjalës”.

Prize for the best literary work on essays in literary criticism, "Ibrahim Rugova" was won by Xhavit Beqiri, for the book “Lahuta e Fishtës".

Prize for the best work translated into Albanian language was won by Fadil Bajra, for translating the work of Dan Fatos, with the book "Heshtja e poetit është akt terrorist”.

Annual awards for literature, were handed out by the jury, composed of Anton Berishaj, Musa Ramadani, Nerimane Kamberi, Xhevat Syla and Agron Y. Gashi.

These awards are handed out according to the Regulation for the National Award on Life’s Work "Azem Shkreli" and Annual Prizes on Literature and are financially valuable. Life’s work prize is rewarded with 5 thousand Euros, while other prizes with 2500 Euros.
