Deputy Prime Minister Shala met UNICEF Ambassador for Kosova

Deputy Prime Minister Kujtim Shala, at the same Minister for Culture, Youth and Sport, received in today’s meeting the head of UNICEF office for Kosova, Ambassador Laila Omar Gad, with whom he discussed policies and concrete engagements in the youth sector, as well as joint steps that could be undertaken in the future by the MCYS and UNICEF.

The Minister, Shala, informed Ambassador Omar Gad about MCYS policies and activities in the field of youth, about the work of working groups and the review of the Strategy for Youth and the New Plan of Action, as well as about the work of the working group into supplementing-amending the Administrative Instruction for Informal Education and the Administrative Instruction for Volunteering.

The Minister thanked Ambassador Omar Gad for the continuous support given by UNICEF to the MCYS and expressed his willingness to further deepen the cooperation. He welcomed UNICEF willingness to provide its contribution into drafting the Strategy, and the assistance in its implementation.

Meanwhile, UNICEF Head of Office in Kosova, Laila Omar Gad, after thanking the Minister for the reception and the cooperation offered up until now expressed her willingness to increase the support from UNICEF and to have more joint projects.

Ambassador Omar Gad assessed the achievements made until now and showed her trust that in the future there will be more positive development in the cooperation between MCYS and UNICEF.
