Reaction

On the date, 18 August 2015, newspaper “Zëri” published the article with the title “Deputy Prime Minister Shala “settles” his wife”, with author, journalist Enis Veliu.

Since the mentioned article mentions the spouse of the Minister Shala and simultaneously presents untrue, we would like to explain to the public that Mrs Lindita Morina Shala is not employed by the MCYS on 1 November 2014, as stated in the article. The truth is that Mrs Lindita Morina Shala was employed at the MCYS, in the position of Finance Officer MCYS/BK on the date 15.06.2009.

Also, information on contract for special services is interpreted in incorrect manner and tends to distort the truth.

The above mentioned article is inaccurate, with the tendency of soiling the name of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister Shala, so we ask for the possible minimum, to publish this denial and public apology both to the Minister and MCYS as well as to the public opinion.

The newspaper "Zeri", with this article did not comply with the principles of the right and correct information to the public, so therefore we addressed the Independent Media Council and Print Media Council, and will submit charges against the same.

MCYS has consistently been open and transparent to the media and public opinion, in view of transparency and fair information.

Also, MCYS wants to inform that due to defamation, which is a penal act, we will exercise lawsuit against the journalist of the newspaper “Zeri”.

MCYS is ready to cooperate with all media, to inform the citizens of Kosovo in proper manner and for the benefit of public opinion.
