Minister Shala visited the archaeological site in Vrellë (Istog)

Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Kujtim Shala, accompanied by the Mayor of Istog, Haki Rugova, today visited Vrella,(Istog), where recently excavations of archaeological importance for Kosovo's cultural heritage have been carried out.

After the important discoveries that the Archaeological Institute of Kosovo has made in this settlement, Minister Shala was interested to closely see the findings in this place.

Discoveries in this place show that it is about an early settlement, where residential tracks since the period of late antiquity and early Middle Ages can be seen.

"These findings are of a great value to the cultural heritage of Kosovo", said Minister Shala, adding that the ministry he directs "is extremely interested to discover important settlements, which show traces of early Ancient Dardania."

Minister Shala also pledged to help the program of the Institute of Archaeology of Kosovo for as many investigations and conservation of cultural heritage of Kosovo.

Simultaneously, the mayor of Istog, Haki Rugova, emphasized that within the support of the Archaeological Institute of Kosovo, the municipality has supported the work done by IAK and revealed that a book of archaeological data about Istog will be published. He also said that cooperation with MCYS is welcome and hopes it will increase even further in the future.
