MCYS applies for membership in the International Federation of Arts Councils and Culture Agencies

Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Memli Krasniqi submitted a letter to the International Federation of Arts Councils and Culture Agencies (IFACCA) today, through which he requested Kosovo to be accepted as member of this organisation.

IFACCA is a global network of Councils and Ministries of Culture from all over the world, and it was founded 13 years ago. The key aim is improvement of capacities of the agencies financing culture, support to artists, building a network of cooperation in the field of culture, promotion of diversity, etc.

“Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports of the Republic of Kosovo, considers culture as a mechanism for influencing in democratic development of the country, and a tool for reaffirmation of cultural identity of Kosovo. In this context, promotion of inter-cultural dialogue remains a priority for MCYS. The debate for international policies and the dialogue are important for artistic and cultural community of our country, and we continuously try to create more opportunities in this direction.

As regards to it, Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports of the Republic of Kosovo will be honoured to join the International Federation of Arts Councils and Culture Agencies (IFACCA) and will become a member of such an inspiring and well known organisation. We believe that becoming a member of IFACCA will enable us advance Kosovo’s place in regional and international art and culture”, writes minister Krasniqi amongst others in the letter addressed to executive director of IFACCA, Sarah Gardner.

IFACCA has 131 members, including Ministries of Culture from majority of countries of the world and important cultural councils and organisations from various countries.
