List of Cultural Heritage Items for Provisional Protection is Signed

Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Memli Krasniqi signed yesterday the decision for approval of the List of Cultural Heritage for Provisional Protection. The List contains 1441 assets of cultural heritage.

In the list which has been drafted by the Commission for Reviewing and Assessment of Requirements - Restoration Projects - Cultural Heritage Conservation, Regional Centres of Cultural Heritage and other institutions of cultural heritage subordinate to MCYS, there are 49 new assets of cultural heritage, 44 in the category of architectural cultural heritage, 3 in the category of archaeological cultural heritage and 2 in the category of movable cultural heritage.

Minister Krasniqi estimated the signing of this list and considered it as a significant step towards protection of cultural heritage.

“Approval of the List of Cultural Heritage under Provisional Protection indicates the care of the state to the cultural heritage. It is undoubtedly very important that following establishment of new institutions of the state, the Assembly of Kosovo takes a decision very soon for appointment of the members of Kosovo Council for Cultural Heritage, an institution which will also lead the work in drafting and approval of the “List of Cultural Heritage under Provisional Protection”, he said.
