Preparations for the 13th Session of European Cultural Parliament are finalized

Around 100 cultural personalities from Europe shall come to Prishtina, from 3 to 5 October 2014, to participate in the 13th session of European Cultural Parliament (ECP).

Delivery of the 13th session of ECP in developed by the initiation of Minister Culture, Youth and Sports, Memli Krasniqi, as well as on the basis of the signed Memo on the organization of this important cultural event between MCYS and ECP. MCYS organizes this activity in cooperation with British Council in Kosovo.

Besides artists and cultural activists from Europe, in panels and activities that shall be held in this session, also around 30 different artists from Kosovo will participate upon the invitation by MCYS

British Council and MCYS have finished all preparations for this event, including also the full agenda of the session.

Minister Krasniqi estimated the delivery of 13th session of ECP in Prishtina as a significant step in the promotion of our cultural stage and an opportunity for our artists to exchange their experiences and build cooperation with personalities and cultural organization from Europe.

“By this event, Prishtina is taking the epithet of one of the main centres of culture in Western Balkans. By this we show the real image of our country”, Minister Krasniqi said.

Whereas Arjeta Emra, director of British Council for Kosovo says that holding of 13th session of ECP in Prishtina occurs in the course of initiatives for the best possible representation of Kosovo:

“For the British Council, as the largest organisation of cultural relations in the world, holding of such a forum is of particular importance, especially for Kosovo, taking into account our cultural integration in the European family. This forum, and in particular the topics which are going to be discussed in the session in Prishtina, such as the role of cultural diplomacy in representation of a state, are a part of the process of our cooperation with the Government of Kosovo towards promoting and representing the image of Kosovo in the best possible way abroad”, she said.

Members of ECP from Kosovo, appointed by the Minister Krasniqi are Eliza Hoxha and Veton Nurkollari. Earlier, Erzen Shkololli, Director of National Gallery of Kosovo was member of this organisation.

In the days ahead, Minister Krasniqi is expected to propose appointment of two more members from Kosovo in ECP.

MCYS and British Council are going to announce in the days to come other details as regards to this session.
