Kosovo marks World Visual Arts Day

At the initiative of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, the National Gallery of Kosovo, the Association of Visual Artists of Kosovo, for the first time in 2021, Kosovo marks this day in solidarity with all the visual arts structures in the world - as a first point to further develop the cultural diplomacy of this sector with all international actors to reflect the principles and practice of the visual arts in Kosovo.

World Visual Arts Day, first celebrated on April 15, 2012 by the International Association of Visual Arts as a UNESCO partner, aims to create connections, collaborations and catalyze the international network of visual arts in the world. This date also coincides with the birthday of world famous artist Leonardo da Vinci.

Today, Kosovo marks this day with a symbolic exhibition of 15 paintings by prominent Kosovar authors at the National Gallery of Kosovo.
