Explanation to the public concerning the Stadium of Prishtina

04.05.2018

Concerning the article published by Koha Ditore and Klan Kosova regarding the works at the Prishtina Stadium: "Turf at the Prishtina Stadium is dying", we would like to explain to the broad public and lovers of football that this conclusion is not true.

As for the grass of the field of play of the city stadium in Prishtina, a project that is under construction, and neither the technical acceptance nor the project submission is done, we as MCYS, still consider the project unfinished, therefore opinions or information such as those circulating in the media undermine the dynamics of the works and the image of investments that are being realized by the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports. And in the final project where 90% is MCYS’s investment while 10% of the total investment value is of the Municipality of Prishtina.

We want to assure everyone that the works at the Pristina Stadium are taking place according to all the recommendations we have received from UEFA for the IV category of stadiums under the UEFA Rules. Also, the Football Federation of Kosovo is part of regular weekly meetings to look closely at the progress on the progress and dynamics of the works, with the aim of communicating with UEFA throughout the Federation so that the project is implemented according to recommendations.

Therefore, we also want to clarify for the opinion that the contracted company for the execution of the works under the permanent supervision of the ministry has the mandate and responsibility for the executive side and the quality of the works stipulated by the signed contract, as the project is being continuously supplemented by Projectors under constant guidance and supervision of UEFA Inspectors.

Also, we want to bring to mind that publishing a false fact or statement the publisher knew or should have known that the fact and the statement is untrue, knowing the fact that the stadium is still in the reconstruction phase and the works have not been completed, such news undermine the reputation of a public person, based on LAW NO. 02 / L-65 - CIVIL LAW AGAINST DEFAMATION AND INSULT and this is sanctioned by the laws in force in the Republic of Kosovo.

We assure the public that MCYS is committed to completing this investment according to UEFA standards and in the shortest possible time, in order to meet the standards required for Kosovo National Team and Kosovo football clubs to carry out international competitions.

The project ends with the testing of all positions from Project Contract Managers and the Technical Admission Commission that will issue a report on the use of the Stadium for the conduct of football activities by Football Club FC-Prishtina and the Football Federation of Kosovo by handing over to the owner the Municipality of Prishtina to act on the management of the facility as an asset of state interest.
