Kosovo’s isolation, a concern for RYCO - also conveyed to the German, French, Italian and Austrian governments

Deputy Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Rexhep Hoti, accompanied by adviser to Minister Shala, Faton Peci, is staying on an official visit to Berlin.

The reason for the visit to Berlin is the meeting of the Government Board for RYCO project (Regional Youth Cooperation Office).

During the first day of the Government Board, were discussed the challenges of RYCO in the Western Balkans and the potential contribution of RYCO in the socio-political aspect.

In the afternoon session, the Kosovo delegation had a meeting with the adviser for Foreign and Security Affairs in the Federal Chancellery, Mr. Christoph Heusgen and adviser to Chancellor Merkel for Foreign Affairs, Matthias Luttenberg, at the Federal Chancellery premises.

In the presentation to the German government representatives, Deputy Minister Hoti expressed his concern that the project of RYCO is difficult to be carried out in Kosovo because our country remains isolated.

A concern of such has been accepted by RYCO and as such has been conveyed to the German and French government as well as Austrian and Italian governments.

It was also discussed the possibility of cooperation in the sphere of media with RYCO office.

Both Merkel advisers have expressed their willingness to new collaborations in the future with the Government of Kosovo and have expressed interest to contribute so that the project of RYCO may find full implementation in Kosovo.

Angela Merkel’s adviser concern was violence in Parliament and inability to make decisions.

The meeting was also attended by the Ambassador of Italy and France, representatives from civil society representing all states of RYCO.
