Minister Shala visits Hungary to drum up support for sport

Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Kujtim Shala, is on an official visit to Hungary, within which he has met László Szabó, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary, with whom he discussed bilateral relations between Kosovo and Hungary and the possibilities of enhancing cooperation between the two countries, with concrete projects, especially projects related to the fields of sports and culture.

László Szabó, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary, thanked Minister Shala for the visit in Hungary, and said that his country will continue to support Kosovo in the future, in its way of integration into the European Union. He also said that Hungary is interested to share its experiences with Kosovo in various fields and will develop good political relations through concrete projects.

Minister Kujtim Shala in turn thanked Hungary for their continuous support given to Kosovo during the process of independence, and now in the process of European integration, adding that this support has a special meaning for Kosovo and said that Kosovo institutions appreciate Hungary's willingness to cooperate specifically with Kosovo.

Shala and Szabó said that intensification of these relations, through agreements and concrete cooperation is in the interest of both parties.

In this meeting, Minister Shala and Deputy Szabó also discussed investments in sports infrastructure in Kosovo, Hungarian experiences in this regard, and the interest of the Government of Hungary to help Kosovo in this area.

With a special emphasis was discussed the basic project of MCYS for building a national sports center in which, the National Stadium is the basic project. There was also discussed Hungary’s capacity to help Kosovo institutions to implement this project through various forms.
