Deputy Minister Hoti: The ministry has increased support for the book

April 23 has been chosen as the International Book and Copyright Day, marking the symbolic significance for the world literature. In the framework of this day, a literary activity was organized in Vushtrri, in which the discussions were held concerning the book, challenges, low number of readers and also different poetries were recited by the new creators.

This literary activity was attended by the Deputy Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Rexhep Hoti, the MP, Xhevahire Izmaku, Rector of the University of Prizren "Ukshin Hoti", Ramë Vata, analyst and writer Nexhmedin Spahiu, creators and lovers of literary art, local government representatives, students and pupils of the primary school.

"Vushtrria is known for its tradition and the bridge behind me, though no water flowing underneath, is a symbol of civic tradition and intellectual artistic thought that Vushtrria possesses, from where lots of people have contributed to our country in every aspect," said Deputy Minister Hoti where he expressed his gratitude on behalf of MCYS, for organizing this event and marking a significant date as the International Book Day.

He said that MCYS has a special care for the book policies in the country. "The ministry has consistently grown support for the publication and distribution of the book. MCYS annually supports literary publications and purchases publications from renowned authors and distributes them throughout libraries in Kosovo. In the light of this support, through subsidies in the field of culture, MCYS helps municipal libraries with a considerable number of books, "said Hoti.

At the activity, it was considered that a challenge for the book still remains disinterest to read, and for this there are many reasons where the most important was rated Internet and technology.
