The theatre, a national value of Kosovo

Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Kujtim Shala, carried out a working visit to the National Theatre, where he met with Agim Sopi, the new director of this institution.

Minister Shala congratulated the director Sopi, promising cooperation and support in strengthening the role of theater and the value it represents to the society.

In order to support and strengthen the role of theater in society, this year the budget for this institution has increased, said Shala, and promised to further increase support for this important cultural institution of Kosovo.

Also, Minister Shala said that MCYS is working intensively on further consolidation and strengthening of the institutions of culture, by investing in infrastructure, financial support and modern legislation.

While, the director of the National Theatre Agim Sopi thanked Minister Shala for the support.

Minister Shala and the director Sopi pointed out that Kosovo needs a powerful, valuable and representative theater.

Also, Minister Shala and director Sopi agreed to rapidly draw out an entire project for the renovation of National Theatre.

In the budget projections for 2016, the MCYS has allocated 330 thousand Euros for the renovation of the National Theatre.
