Today, Deputy Minister Burbuqe Bakija-Deva has held a meeting with Richard Mei, US Deputy Assis-tant in Kosovo and Ellen Frank, the artistic leader of the international initiative "Cities of Peace".

"Cities of Peace" is a US-based organization, and aims to foster intercultural dia-logue and peace building through the creation of art works in places where wars have taken place.

After the successful completion of the first phase of realization of the work of art - the city of Prishtina, which will be the symbol of honor for Kosovo, this project will start with the sec-ond phase where it will be again in cooperation with the Kosovo Museum and Fulbright Software Pro-gram within the State Department-Bureau of Educational and Cultural (ECA USA).

The origi-nal work honoring Kosovo will join the collection of works of other cities that have been selected to be "Peace Cities" and will travel around the world, beginning with the United Nations Headquarters in New York.

The original works will be presented to the Office of the President of the Repub-lic, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, the Ministry of Education Science and Technology, the University of Prishtina and the Museum of Kosovo.

On behalf of MCYS, the Deputy Minister expressed her willingness to back again such an initiative that will be re-alized in cooperation with the Museum of Kosova and that will have a significant impact on the promo-tion of the Republic of Kosovo through advanced forms of cultural diplomacy, where undoubtedly one of the most celebrated success stories in the world today, in this kind of promotion, is the projects car-ried out by Cities of Peace.

"Moreover, we are very pleased to welcome and support pro-jects that will help promote Kosovo's cultural heritage, with other world cities", said Bakija-Deva, among other things.
