Minister Gashi announces UEFA’s confirmation that the stadium "Fadil Vokrri" is ready for international matches

Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Kujtim Gashi, has received confirmation from the European Football Federation Union (UEFA) confirming that the stadium "Fadil Vokrri" can be used for international matches.

Specifically, UEFA has allowed the use of stadium for UEFA Nations League matches, where Kosovo will play the game against the Faroe Islands on 10 September 2018.

On this occasion, Minister Gashi, after receiving confirmation, congratulates the whole football community in Kosovo, starting with the Football Federation of Kosovo, clubs, footballers and sports workers. "We as Ministry and I as Minister in person, continuously and with the greatest commitment have worked to come to this day when we are officially allowed to play international matches in the stadiums within the territory of the Republic of Kosovo", said inter alia the Minister.

"I want to inform the sports community in general and football in particular that UEFA has sent us the confirmation that allows the use of 'Fadil Vokrri' stadium for the international matches within the framework of the UEFA Nations League, and on 10 September Kosovo will mark a historic act because it plays for the first time in an internationally recognized stadium in its territory and does not need to utilize sports arenas in other countries", the minister said.

"I want to congratulate all those who have given their contribution for the stadium to come up to this stage. I also congratulate and wish success to the players who will use this modern stadium in which we have invested and have been committed to", concluded Gashi.
