It has been made the decision to transfer the House of Sport to the Ministry's ownership


The Government of Kosovo at today's meeting has decided to authorize the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports to undertake all necessary actions for the expropriation of immovable property, namely the House of Sport in Prishtina.

The facility in which the Sports Department, the Kosovo Olympic Committee and most of the Kosovo Federations are located, according to the decision of the Government are expected to be transferred to the ownership of MCYS.

The Ministry considers that the transfer of the sports house under its property is done in order to create better conditions for the development of sports in the Republic of Kosovo.

Minister Kujtim Gashi in his speech at the Government meeting argued that "The facility of the Sports House is a facility of public interest, in which are located the Department of Sport, the Olympic Committee of Kosovo and most of the Sports Federations that carry out all their administrative activities. Obtaining this Authorization will enable us to immediately start preparatory work to carry out all necessary actions for the expropriation of this facility".

"During the preparatory work we will cooperate with all the relevant institutions in completing the elaborate of this course and will follow the same according to the regular procedures in the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning for further review", the minister added.

The Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports remains committed to developing sustainable policies in order to improve the sports infrastructure in the country. The symbol facility of sport before and after the war, the 'House of Sport' must continue to remain part of the physical infrastructure of the ministry and should not be alienated, is the conclusion of the MCYS.
