Minister Gashi: The hall will be ready for play

Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Kujtim Gashi, visited today the Palace of Youth and Sports in Prishtina to inspect the investments that MCYS is making in the small hall. New investments to increase the number of seats are made through a contract worth around 170,000 Euros.

Minister Gashi has closely seen the works being done at this hall which is being supplied with new telescopic seats and the existing ones are being fixed to meet the standards required by FIBA with the addition of 2818 seats in the hall.

The Minister praised the quality and dynamics of work being done in this sport facility and pledged that the hall will be ready for the Kosovo A representative basketball matches so Kosovo can play qualifications for "China 2019" within the country.

"I visited today the Palace of Youth and Sports to express the support of the Ministry and the Government that the sports infrastructure in our country will be improved and supplemented so that our sportspeople will have enough space and of European and world standards to carry out their sport activities" , said the minister.

"The Ministry along with the parties involved have been committed and have worked with the utmost dedication that the small hall of the Youth and Sports Palace be ready for the matches of Kosovo A representative in basketball. The works have been carried out according to the planned deadline with an added dynamics. It remains to be said that the hall will be ready for play according to the criteria foreseen by FIBA while sportspeople and sports fans in Kosovo will have the opportunity to see the games of our national team and clubs in modern facilities", underlined Minister Gashi.

The first match in the hall with the additional seats will be played in the frame of European Cup qualifiers "China 2019”, group C, Kosovo against Lithuania on October 24 at 19:00.
