Deputy Prime Minister Shala and UNMIK Representative, Zarif, discuss about culture and cultural heritage

Today, in a meeting between Deputy Prime Minister Kujtim Shala and Special Representative of United Nation Secretary-General, Farid Zarif, it was discussed about the cooperation between UNMIK and Kosovo institutions in different fields, specifically, in that of culture and cultural heritage.

Farid Zarif, congratulated Deputy Prime Minister Shala for his assignment and also expressed his readiness and the mission he heads to support Kosovo institutions in the process of Kosovo’s membership in international organisations, such as UNESCO.

Deputy Prime Minister Shala emphasised the need for coordination of actions to achieve this goal of Kosovo institutions, because, according to him, this issue is of a special importance in order to protect and affirm the rich cultural heritage of Kosovo. In this regards, Deputy Prime Minister Shala highlighted that the cultural heritage should be treated as a cultural issue professionally, and not as a political issue, therefore, he asked him for cooperation and understanding in this direction.

Deputy Prime Minister and UNMIK Representative, Mr. Zarif, also discussed about the Law on Cultural Heritage.
