For the organisation of an international handball championship

Today, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS), Kujtim Shala, welcomed in a meeting the President of Kosovo Handball Federation (KHF), Eugen Saraçini, with whom he discussed about the possibility to organise the Handball Championship in Developing Countries for Men in Kosovo.

President of KHF, Eugen Saraçini, informed Minister Shala on the general progress of handball sport now after the internationalisation. He also informed the Minister that in the last meeting held by IHF, it expressed its interest to organise the Handball Championship in Developing Countries for Men and invited countries to apply for the organisation of this championship, in which 20 competing teams shall take place. Mr. Saraçini asked for the support of the institutions of Kosovo and MCYS, in particular, to address the issue of the organisation of this championship.

Minister Shala emphasised that the organisation of such a championship in Kosovo is exceedingly important and comprises an event that would promote our country and would influence the rise of quality ant competition in the sport of handball.

Minister Shala offered his full support on this purpose, as well as encouraged President Saraçini to prepare the necessary documentation and for finalisation of procedures to be accomplished as soon as possible so that Kosovo shall apply and obtain the possibility to organise this very important event of international character.

Inter alia, Minister Shala notified President Saraçini that now the process of the completing the legal infrastructure has started and in the first half of the year the finalisation of many sports infrastructure projects is expected. Moreover, the Minister stated that MCYS in coordination with the Ministry of Finance finalised procedures of supplying sports federations with special budget codes. While, in the sphere of sports infrastructure, the Minister said that soon the approval of new laws that are related to sport is expected.
