Minister Shala hosted the president of KHF, Eugen Saraçini

Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS), Kujtim Shala, hosted today in a meeting the President of Kosovo Handball Federation (KHF), Eugen Saraçini, with whom he discussed the achievements in this sport during this year.

Minister Shala emphasised the importance that along the internationalisation of Kosovo handball in the international arena, it is also necessary to work hard in raising the quality and the best possible presentation in international competitions so that our sportsmen are not only competitors, but dignified competitors too.

“We are working together with federations and Kosovo Olympic Committee so that sportsmen and sportswomen of Kosovo not only take part in various European and world competitions, but also be competitor to others”, minister Shala said, specifying that he is highly ready for cooperation and support to sports, handball in particular.

Minister Shala informed the president of KHF Saraçini that he has already started to work in the process of improvement of legal infrastructure. Along with the Law on Sports, which now is a part of the legislative package of the government, the ministry will work hard in licensing and sponsorship of sport. These steps, according to minister Shala, will directly influence in quality assurance.

Whereas the head of KHF, Eugen Saraçini informed minister Shala about the challenges and steps ahead of KHF in the future, now, after the full internationalisation. According to him as well, increase of quality of local handball, and increase of support through various sponsorships and donations is an important aspect, and he also stressed that they will be in full partnership with MCYS.

Both agreed that in addition to the support for handball from the central level, support from businesses and local governance is also needed.
