Minister Krasniqi and Head of KBF discuss on the creation of a basketball centre for young group ages

Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Memli Krasniqi, welcomed in a meeting the directors of Kosovo Basketball Federation, led by Head Erolld Belegu.

In this meeting they discussed about so far developments of basketball both inside and within the process of internationalisation. It was estimated that the recognition of Kosovo Olympic Committee by International Olympic Committee has created new and facilitating circumstances not only for the internationalisation of basketball, but other sports, too.

Minister Krasniqi congratulated the federation for great engagements that were present in many directions such as in the organisation of competitions inside Kosovo and the internationalisation as well. He stated that MCYS shall continue to engage itself even more in the lobbying process, always in coordination with KBF.

In this meeting, they also discussed with great emphasis on the plans KBF has in future years. In this aspect, it was discussed about establishing a basketball centre for young group ages. Head Mr Belegu presented in details their plans for this centre estimating it as a very important step on the promotion of talents, the best presentation in the international arena and expansion of sports.

Minister Krasniqi highly appraised this project. He stated that MCYS for four years now has the priority to develop sports at young generations and, hence, he stated that he bestowed importance to school sports. Minister Krasniqi said that MCYS shall support the creation and functioning of this centre.

In the meeting, it was talked also about the project already finalised that is the compilation and publishing of the Code of Conduct in Basketball, which was supported by MCYS. This code shall be presented in the days following and it is an important document for all stakeholders involved in basketball, as officials, players, referees and fans.
