Minister Gashi visited the archaeological site of Dresnik and the Castle of Vuçak; MCYS will support all projects based on the achieved results

Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Kujtim Gashi, visited today the archaeological site in the village Dresnik of Klina as well as the Castle of Vuçak. During this visit, Minister Gashi has looked closely at the archaeological excavations being done by the Kosovo Archaeological Institute in these two cultural heritage assets in our country.

During the visit to the archaeological site of Dresnik, Minister Gashi expressed his satisfaction with the works in this locality. He said: "I am here to look closely at the works being done at this archaeological site at the same time and to talk to archaeologists and staff, as well as to the leaders of the Kosovo Archaeological Institute and the additional budget needed.

He also said that this is an important locality: "It is one of the very important cultural heritage sites and in this context I am very interested, with the local authorities and also talk about the property issues. At the same time, we are interested, together with the relevant institutions, to form a working group for Drafting a Management Plan not only for the Dresnik locality, but also for many other cultural heritage assets.

Also, I as Minister, will take care to allocate additional budget to all projects that bring results in the field of cultural heritage, said Minister Gashi.

Finally, Minister Gashi congratulated archaeologists and all the staff of the Ministry for excellent work, as well as field work teams for a job and for extraordinary results.

Meanwhile, Elvis Shala, project leader initially thanked Minister Gashi and the Ministry of Culture for financing the project, stressing that this is the seventh year that this project is funded by the Ministry. "If this intensity of financial support continues from the Ministry, Dresnik will be one of the most important places to visit for tourists coming to Kosovo", said Shala. He also talked about the locality, saying that "the most important part is the last quarter century residence and with the excavations so far we know about the existence of the building walls, Palace number 1 and Palace number 2. We are looking forward to discover Stipadium , Horium and other related monuments. This was the palace of the Roman Empire. "

Today, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Kujtim Gashi has also visited the Castle of Vuçak in Drenas. Minister Gashi said that "the ministry will be committed to the maximum to support all projects that bring results and successes, and one of them is the work process that is taking place in Vuçak Castle".

Meanwhile, the professor of Archeology, Shafi Gashi, said that "with the support of the Ministry of Culture we are making efforts to turn this monument of cultural heritage into a monument of cultural tourism".
