At the stadium "Adem Jashari" in Mitrovica will be invested about 10 million Euros

Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Kujtim Gashi, together with the Chairman of the Assembly of Kosovo, Kadri Veseli and Minister of Finance Bedri Hamza, visited today the Olympic Stadium "Adem Jashari" in Mitrovica.

In the framework of this visit, they have looked closely at the current stadium situation and agreed that this sports arena will be transformed into a fourth category stadium according to UEFA standards.

Minister Gashi stated that MCYS is in the process of transforming the stadium in Mitrovica into a fourth category stadium. "We are in the process of transforming the stadium in Mitrovica into the fourth category so that Kosovo's representation will be able to play its matches in this stadium", said the minister among others.

He pointed out that there will be new and big investments in the stadium in Mitrovica and Kosovo will have two four-level stadiums. "We are gradually meeting all the requirements and the criteria of UEFA so that Kosovo will finally play matches in Kosovo without having to use the stadiums of the neighboring states", the minister said.

"I am very convinced that in 2019 the stadium 'Adem Jashari' will be ready and return to a four-category stadium and will be among the most beautiful stadiums due to the capacity of this stadium", Minister Gashi added.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Assembly stated that Mitrovica, sport and economy are strategic interests of our country. "The visits that we have been carrying out in the last days show a clear commitment to the modernization of sport in our country".

"Based on what I talked to the Minister of Sports and Finance, at the Mitrovica Stadium will be invested about 10 million Euros, where the entire external facade will be changed and the internal infrastructure of this stadium will be modernized", announced Veseli.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Finance, Bedri Hamza stated that the Government of the Republic of Kosovo, apart from ensuring sustainable financing of sports facilities, will continue to fund major projects in Mitrovica.
