Minister Gashi in Brussels to sign the agreement for "Creative Europe"

Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Kujtim Gashi, traveled to Brussels, where tomorrow, on behalf of the Republic of Kosovo, signs the Agreement between the European Union and Kosovo on Kosovo's participation in the EU's "Creative Europe" program for the sectors cultural and creative.

Minister Gashi, in the framework of the visit, will hold a series of meetings with EU representatives and will discuss the spaces and opportunities for cooperation in areas that are under the responsibility of the ministry, culture, youth, sport and heritage.

Minister Gashi considered this agreement as extremely important because, besides the possibility that the Organization of Civil Society and individuals dealing with art and culture will be supported by EU funds is also an empowering element of citizenship of Kosovo.

"The agreement that we will sign tomorrow, between the EU and the state of Kosovo, will enable persons and organizations carrying out cultural and artistic activities to have the opportunity, officially as Kosovo citizens, to apply to the EU program for culture 'Creative Europe'. They will thus be able to receive financial support from European Commission funds. This is a good opportunity for artists from Kosovo to enrich the cultural life in our country and beyond and for this I feel delighted", said Minister Gashi.

So far, the MCYS has taken all steps to implement this EU program in Kosovo, by establishing the European Creative Commons Office - Kosovo Office, by organizing information sessions with stakeholders on the program and the calls made through this program. Also, the MCYS has signed a memorandum of cooperation with DokuFest to design a database of organizations and individuals dealing with art culture and a guidebook on how to apply in the calls of the "Creative Europe" program.
