Ministers Kujtim Gashi and Mirela Kumbaro agree to bring the exhibits of Isa Boletini to Kosovo

Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Kujtim Gashi, stayed in Tirana to carry out his first official visit, where he met his counterpart, the Minister of Culture, Mirela Kumbaro Furxhi.

Minister Gashi during the meeting with Minister Kumabaro discussed the possibilities of deepening the cooperation between the two respective ministries in the field of culture, cultural heritage and copyright, creating space and opportunities for intensification of cooperation also between the independent cultural scene of both countries.

Among the concrete topics of cooperation between the two ministries of culture of Kosovo and Albania for 2018 was the signing of the common cultural calendar as a good and very significant tradition for culture in both countries, which will happen within February. Given the fact that 2018 was also declared the nationwide year of Gjergj Kastrioti - Skenderbeu, the two ministers agreed to undertake more activities to mark this important anniversary for Albanians.

Minister Gashi on this occasion asked from the Albanian Minister to "borrow" some of the exhibits belonging to the national hero Isa Boletini to be part of the permanent exhibition at the Kosovo Museum, which will open on 17 February - the 10th Anniversary of Kosovo's Independence, pointing out that the exposure of things belonging to Isa Boletini at the Kosovo Museum is an important event for our culture and history, as this is a proof that personalities from Kosovo have given much for the national cause.

Minister Gashi added: "We also talked about the joint activities we are organizing to mark the 10th anniversary of the jubilee year of Kosovo's Independence, for which I urged for common activities Kosovo-Albania ".

Minister of Culture Mirela Kumbaro said that the focus of discussion with his Kosovar counterpart was the preparation for the common Albanian-Kosovo cultural calendar; as well as discussing the continuation of cooperation between the cultural institutions of the two countries.

During the day, Minister Gashi visited the National Museum of Surveillance "House of Leaves" as well as met heads of cultural institutions in Albania.
