Prizren welcomes the transfer of part of the ministry

Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Kujtim Gashi, on the visit in Prizren, handed in to the Mayor of Prizren, Ramadan Muja, the decision of the Government of Kosovo for the transfer of a part of the MCYS staff in Prizren and the request of the Ministry for review to the Municipal Assembly of Prizren, for allowing to use the two facilities in Prizren by MCYS.

It is about allowing the use of facilities in two locations, the Rectorate of the University of Prizren "Ukshin Hoti", in the center of the city and of the Internat (Gendarmerie) in the Terzinj neighborhood.

"We have today handed in to the Mayor the request regarding the premises of the Rectorate of the University, where we had talks with the Rector, and we agreed that this facility be given for use to the ministry, but of course that the final decision will be taken by the municipality. And the second facility will be that of Internati, a site under protection, but which needs investment in its conservation, restoration and adaptation as a facility to be used by MCYS", said Minister Gashi.

Meanwhile, the Mayor of Prizren, Ramadan Muja, said that he welcomes the request by MCYS and the fact that the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports comes from the historic city of Prizren. "The city of Prizren has welcomed such a decision last week of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo and it is a pleasure for us, the city of Prizren, people of culture and sports and I am very confident that Prizren Municipality will closely co-operate with the ministry to advance the development of culture in the Republic of Kosovo ", said among other things Mayor Muja.

Minister Gashi accompanied by Mayor Muja visited these two locations, where a part of the political, professional and administrative staff of the ministry is expected to be deployed by the beginning of February of next year.
