A cooperation agreement has been signed between the National Library of Kosovo "Pjetër Bogdani" and the Franciscan Library "Father Gjergj Fishta"

In the Franciscan Library "Father Gjergj Fishta", in the presence of Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Kujtim Shala and the Provincial Minister of the Franciscans in Albania, Pater Aurel Gjerkaj, a Cooperation Agreement has been signed between the National Library of Kosovo "Pjetër Bogdani" and the Franciscan Library "Father Gjergj Fishta". The agreement was signed by Fazli Gajraku, director of the Kosovo National Library and Father Vitor Demaj, Director of the Franciscan Library "Father Gjergj Fishta".

Under this agreement, the two libraries will work in exchanging and borrowing library materials from the field of Albanology, especially book and manuscripts. The agreement will also strengthen cooperation in the area of research, collection and preservation of Albanian culture.

Under this agreement, it is also foreseen to promote joint bibliographic activities, exhibitions and publications.

In recent years, the Franciscan Albanian Province has begun the project to unveil all works of Franciscan writers during a century, a series of works - publications and reprints from the field of literature, linguistics, history, ethnography and Albanian folklore, ranging from the author Gjergj Fishta up to Father Zef Pllumi.

All these works for nearly half a century were anathematized by the communist regime.

The Franciscan Library "Father Gjergj Fishta" at the signing ceremony of this agreement donated to the National Library of Kosovo all the copies of the well-known magazine "Hylli i Dritës" from 2006 to 2017, as well as the copies, from 1999 to 2005 , of the weekly cultural magazine published by the Albanian Studies Center "Ernest Koliqi". Also, other titles were donated from the column of the publications of the Franciscan Library "Father Gjergj Fishta".
