MCYS with the budget increased by 60%

Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports for 2017 will have a budget of around 33 million euro. Compared to last year, where the ministry's budget was about 20 million, this year it has had a budget increase of about 60%.

Much of the budget is planned for capital expenditures. Infrastructure take the first place of investment with over 21 million, while 7 million are planned for subsidies.

Sports have been allocated an essential part of the budget, around 17 million Euros, categorized for budgetary programs, Sports and Sports Achievements. While, for the field of culture have been allocated over eight million euro, for the following programs: Institutional support for culture; Supporting Culture and the National Library "Pjeter Bogdani". Field of Cultural Heritage for 2017 has a budget of nearly five million for the following categories: Preservation, Protection of Cultural Heritage and Presentations and heritage research. Youth has a budget of around two million Euros for the following programs: Protection and integration of youth; Development and support of youth and the Development of Integration Policies. The remainder of the budget, slightly over a million Euros is allocated for the Administration Services.

MCYS estimates that through this budget will be achieved the objectives set and will be realized many capital projects and other nature projects for the benefit of communities involved in sport, culture, cultural heritage and youth and also for the benefit of all citizens of our country.

To MCYS, the budget increase demonstrates the commitment of the Government of Kosovo that the fields of culture, heritage, youth and sport remain among the priorities of the Government. Also, the budget this year enables realization of planned program policies of the ministry, and also increases the need for a greater commitment of all institutions of culture, heritage, sports and youth, for a promotion, a presentation and a qualitative participation of Kosovo within the country, in the region and also worldwide.
