MCYS established awards in visual arts

Today Minister of Culture, Youth and Sport, Kujtim Shala, signed the Regulation on giving the award for lifetime achievements “Muslim Mulliqi” and the annual award for achievements in visual arts. Through this normative act the award was established which bears the name of the painter and painting pedagogue Muslim Mulliqi.

This legal provision sets the requirements and procedures for giving of this award on lifetime achievement and annual award for creativity in visual arts. The Regulation stipulates that the award “Muslim Mulliqi” will be awarded for prominent personalities in this area, for professional achievements and increase of values and special contribution in advancing of visual arts. Whereas the annual award will be awarded for these categories: painting, sculpture, graphic, ceramics, drawing, graphic design, artistic photography, video-art and conceptual art and performance.

The award for lifetime achievement “Muslim Mulliqi” will be awarded in a financial amount of five thousands euro, whereas the annual award in an amount of three thousand euro.

Competition for the award “Muslim Mulliqi” and annual award will be done through proposals by the Academy of Science and Arts of Kosovo, Kosovo National Gallery and other professional galleries, public and private Faculties of Arts of the Republic of Kosovo and professional Associations of creators of visual art.

The ceremony of awarding the awards is set by the Regulation and will be organized every 1st of June.
