Hoti at the Albanian Diaspora Summit, requires the establishment of a joint ministry of culture

Deputy Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Rexhep Hoti took part in the Albanian Diaspora Summit, organized by Albania's prime minister.

Speaking of culture, at the panel organized within the summit, Deputy Minister Hoti said that during the time we were divided and conquered, culture was our trunk in its full meaning in Albanian territories and in the Diaspora.

Hoti launched the idea that both governments, that of Kosovo and Albania take the initiative for the establishment of a common ministry of culture.

"We can have one institutional body with as many branches as necessary within both Albanian republics, speaking of, Tirana and Prishtina, and also we should have branches with Albanian territories outside areas of both republics, as well as in the Diaspora and Turkey ".

Hoti said that our cultural trunk does not imply bilateral cooperation because culture can not be separated as political, it is a value of a trunk and belongs to all Albanians with or without borders.

"In this regard I can not understand why we should have two ministries of culture let alone two academies or other institutions with cultural character," said Hoti.

At this point, the Deputy Minister stressed that the culture would have the space for all non-majority communities, which are the biggest asset of the Albanian republic.

According to him, full freedom of non-majority communities within the Albanian states is fundamental understanding of freedom in the European space and tomorrow will be a challenge for the EU, which in terms of the legislature is far from the standards of such, and we have provided in Kosovo.

Further, talking about culture, Deputy Minister of MCYS said that it is in fact one of the fundamental base on which the European Union stands today as a form of civilization.

"We do not want European integration to be such. We represent European values nowadays more than all the European Union member states.

Otherwise, the next Albanian Diaspora summit will be held as organization of Kosovo institutions.
