The National Library of Kosovo "Pjetër Bogdani", becomes a member of IFLA

Task Force established by the Government of the Republic of Kosovo for membership of Kosovo Institutions /International Mechanisms of Culture, within the frame of its work has been advocating and assisting in the membership of the National Library of Kosovo "Pjeter Bogdani" in the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA).

The membership of NLK "Pjeter Bogdani" in IFLA is regarded to be extremely important, as not only it is a connection to the international network of library institutions, it also allows the representation of the main library institution of the country in this international mechanism, exchange and gaining experiences of libraries from other countries and many other benefits.

It is worth mentioning that the establishment of the Task Force was proposed by MCYS and was adopted by the government on June 1, this year and consists of representatives of: Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports - Chairman; Presidency; the Prime Minister; The Foreign Affairs Committee of the Parliament of the Republic of Kosovo; Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Ministry of Integration; Experts as necessary; and Representatives of civil society.

Meanwhile, IFLA, founded in Edinburgh on September 30, 1927, is headquartered in Hague, Netherlands, and at the same time it is the main international body representing the interests of library and information services as well as their users. It is the global and most prestigious voice of the profession of library.
