Deputy Minister Hoti: Archaeology, a connecting point between Kosovo and Germany

During his official visit to Germany, the Deputy Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Rexhep Hoti visited the German Mining Museum in Bochum where he met with representatives of the museum.

Deputy Minister Hoti was met by Prof. Dr. Thomas Stöllner, director and member of the Board at the Museum of Bochum, Dr. Gabriele Körlin, Deputy Director of the Department for Scientific Research and Dr. Guntram Gassmann.

Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports and the Museum of Bochum, since 2012 have concretized their cooperation through signing a memorandum.

At the meeting that Deputy Minister Hoti had with representatives of the museum, discussed the renewal of the memorandum for another 3 years.

Deputy Minister Hoti expressed the Kosovo’s Government desire and readiness to continue cooperation and jointly agreed to think about long-term plans for financing cooperation.

Another important issue discussed was the possibility of opening a museum of Minerals in Kosovo like the one in Bochum, specifically in Kishnicë, for which the representatives of Bochum agreed that it is very likely to happen and seems quite attractive.

About this, he stressed out the need to act immediately before various demolitions start happening there which as a consequence could block the hallways.

Further there was also discussed the financial benefit of the tourism field and at this point were mentioned Kishnica and Upliana as ver y attractive spots and also very close to tourists.

Representatives of the Bochum museum expressed their willingness to cooperate in other projects too especially on the issues which were discussed at the meeting while Deputy Minister Hoti assured them that MCYS will always be ready for joint projects and initiatives.
