World Bank interested in helping culture in Kosovo

Minister Shala welcomed the Director of the Office of the World Bank (WB) in Kosovo, Marco Mantovanelli, with whom he discussed the possibilities of cooperation between the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports and the World Bank.

Director Mantovanelli informed Minister Shala about projects that the WB is interested in supporting. He talked about the 4 year strategy of the World Bank in Kosovo and offered the possibility of bilateral consultations between the two institutions in order to find ways on how the World Bank can help the field of culture, sports and youth.

Also, Mantovanelli stressed that they will consider opportunities to continue the cooperation through concrete projects with MCYS in the field of youth where they have invested in the past, speaking of the Youth Development Project in Kosovo. He expressed willingness to listen to the needs of MCYS, especially in the field of economic development through culture and tourism, so that they become part of the discussions in planning their future strategy.

Minister Shala informed Mantovanelli about MCYS policies and strategic goals for the future. He stressed the excellent cooperation of the Government of Kosovo with the World Bank in several areas of economic development. He also asked to expand this cooperation in specific areas of culture, youth and sports. He expressed his readiness to continue cooperation in youth projects and also to consider the possibility for investment in culture and cultural heritage, with special specifications in projects related to the environment, such as the Museum of Nature.

Minister Shala and Mantovanelli pledged to continue the dialogue and deepen cooperation between the two parties.
