The dimension of intangible heritage is a synchronized relationship between the society, the meaning it creates and expresses through social norms and the values it attributes to the surrounding world. Symbolic aspects, systems of belief, rules and principles, creativity and invention, practices and interaction represent on one side the expressive content of the intangible culture, and on the other side they serve as a concrete evidence of the symbiotic relationship between the tangible and intangible. Thus, intangible heritage must be seen as a wider framework in which social relationships form and create meaning. In times of the breaking of barriers within the context of globalization, societies find themselves in defense of the practices along with the representation and knowledge manifested in the cultural heritage. This is an effort taken for the protection and the promotion of identity values, and an effort taken to manage these values through the establishment of specific policies for the field. In this interdisciplinary conference, the main discussion will focus on the issue of cultural intangible heritage promotion and management.
