MCYS handed out annual music awards

Today, in a ceremony organized at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, which was attended by Minister Kujtim Shala, jury and prize laureates, were given annual awards in the field of music.

On this occasion, Minister Kujtim Shala said that these awards are an incentive for further development of artistic and musical life in the country.

Based on the assessment of the professional jury composed of academician Zeqirja Ballata, jury chairman, Valton Beqiri, composer and Baki Jashari, composer and conductor, professors of music Sevime Gjinali and Seniha Spahiu, are laureates of the National Prize on Life’s work "Niketë Dardani "for 2015.

The financial value of this prize is 5 thousand Euros, while this year, upon jury’s decision, the prize was given to two laureates, where each received 2, 500 Euros.

"Annual awards in the category of stylistic and duo works" was given to composer Dafina Zeqiri- Nushi for the work “Fantazia e Fuga". The value of this award is 1, 000 thousand Euros.

"Annual award in the category of chamber works" was given to the composer Mendi Mengjiqi for "The Suitë Shqiptare". The value of this award is 3 000 thousand Euros.

"Annual award in the category of orchestral-symphonic and concert works was given to the composer Kreshnik Aliçkaj for "Koncert për violinë e piano e orkestër ". The value of this award is 4, 000 thousand Euros.

"Annual award in the category of vocal and instrumental works" was given to the composer Drinor Zymberi for "Cantata Metamorphosis ". The value of this prize is 5, 000 thousand Euros.

On behalf of the jury, academician Zeqirja Ballata read the evaluations of the jury.
