2016, year of the promotion of Kosovo’s culture in Turkey

Deputy Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Rexhep Hoti welcomed today the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey in Kosovo, Kivilicim Kilic, with whom he discussed the cooperation between Kosovo and Turkey in the field of culture, with an emphasis on this year’s program of cultural activities due to take place in Turkey as well as in Kosovo as part of the selection of the year 2016, as the year of Kosovo.

After selecting 2016 by the Republic of Turkey as the year of Kosovo, projects that promote the culture of Kosovo in Turkey are expected to be realized, through various activities which will be organized in coordination between two countries.

Deputy Minister Hoti expressed his appreciation and gratitude for the contribution that the Republic of Turkey is giving to Kosovo through support and cooperation especially in the field of culture.

Hoti stressed the importance of selecting the state of Kosovo for supporting activities and projects, and said that MCYS is ready to cooperate in this project of particular importance to Kosovo.

Deputy Minister Hoti said that MCYS will review the steps for concretizing cooperation in this project of investments from Turkey to Kosovo, whether in terms of promotion or launch of projects and activities by the MCYS.

While the Ambassador Kilic thanked the Deputy Minister Hoti for the willingness that MCYS have expressed to cooperate and facilitate the realization of this year's program.

She said that after the selection of 2016 as the year of Kosovo in terms of investment in various projects, she expects to successfully carry out the activities that promote the culture of Kosovo in Turkey as well as common cultural elements that Kosovo and Turkey have.

The Turkish Ambassador among others said that the good relations between Kosovo and Turkey will continue also in the future, with other concrete projects and initiatives.
