Meeting with heads of the Association of Librarians of Kosovo

Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Kujtim Shala, in the premises of the National Library of Kosovo, held a meeting with the heads of the Association of Librarians of Kosovo, led by President Avdi Lakna.

The Association heads informed Minister Shala about the challenges that the Kosovo's libraries and librarianship in general are facing.

The leaders of this association raised the need for investment in professional development of the library staff, as well as in regulating the status of Kosovo librarians.

Minister Shala promised the heads of ALK support and cooperation to overcome the challenges, as, according to him, the role of libraries in the culture of a country is fundamental.

He expressed the need for development and greater enrichment of collections of the libraries of Kosovo, such as a comprehensive distribution of books in the libraries of Kosovo, so that the readers are able to find the books published in Kosovo.
