Minister Shala met with the American ambassador, Greg Delawie

Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Kujtim Shala, welcomed today the Ambassador of the United States in Kosovo, Greg Delawie, with whom he discussed the cooperation between the Ministry and the US Embassy.

Minister Shala and the Ambassador Delawie praised the close cooperation of the two governments, in particular that of MCYS with the US Embassy in the promotion of cultural values.

Minister thanked the Ambassador for the continued and crucial help that the US government is giving to the strengthening of statehood of Kosovo and in particular for cultural institutions.

Likewise, Minister Shala informed Ambassador Delawie about policies that MCYS is pursuing for the development of culture in the country and the promotion of cultural diversity.

At the meeting, special emphasis was given to the process of Kosovo's membership in UNESCO, as well as ensuring guarantee of heritage and autonomy of the Serbian Orthodox Church, in accordance with the Ahtisaari Package and the Constitution of Kosovo.

Ambassador Delawie pledged to continue cooperation in the field of culture, cultural heritage and sports diplomacy.

Also, the Ambassador Delawie stressed that the government of his country, through the Embassy in Pristina, will continue to support various cultural and sports activities, which promote cultural and ethnic diversity of Kosovo.
