25.09.2015

Deputy Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Rexhep Hoti, welcomed in a meeting the historian and activist Altin Kocaqi, who is expected to bring in Albanian the work of European linguistics scientist, the German Franz Boop, who has defended the thesis that Albanian is the oldest language, older than ancient Greek and Sanskrit, as well as the work of the Arvanites, Panajot Kupitori.

Hoti thanked the historian Kocaqi for his commitment and contribution that he is giving to the Albanian culture and language. Hoti said that the Ministry of Culture, and he as well, will be involved in publishing renowned scientists of linguistics, who have contributed uniquely for the Albanian language as well.

"I pledge publicly that very soon we will find the necessary funding to publish in Albanian, the father and one of the outstanding scientists of European Linguistics and beyond, Franz Boop, Arvanites Panajot Kupitori and other scientists forgotten. I would like to congratulate Altin Kocaqi and all historians and activists", said Deputy Minister Hoti.

Among other things, Deputy Minister Hoti informed Kocaqi about the projects and policies that MCYS has and support regarding publishing and books, which constantly has been increasing year after year.

Meanwhile, the historian Altin Kocaqi, thanked Deputy Minister Hoti for the reception, by expressing his satisfaction for MCYS and Hoti’s readiness to support publications dealing with culture and Albanian language.

"Father of the Linguistics science, the German Franz Boop, who is also known as the author who created the" tree of languages', raised on a pedestal the Albanian language, arguing that it is much older than ancient Greek, Latin and Sanskrit, not yet published in Albanian language, but this fact is expected to change soon, "said Kocaqi.

He asserted that also other eminent scientists such as the Arvanites, Panajot Kupitori and many other scientists have not been translated.

According to him, his and the group’s work that is dealing with the translations of forgotten scientists, will only intensify. The Albanian language, as one of the oldest languages in the world and the most special, without any relation to other contemporary languages , has led many scientists to study in detail and make various theses on the origin, development and its preservation.
