Minister Shala met the Kosova Council for Cultural Heritage

Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Kujtim Shala welcomed today the leaders of the Kosovo Council for Cultural Heritage, headed by the President Shafi Gashi.

Minister Shala congratulated the President and members for the work and functionalism of the Council. He also promised support in function of investigation, preservation, promotion and affirmation of the rich cultural heritage of Kosovo.

Minister Shala also asked from the Council to be careful in the process of finalizing the List of Sites for Permanent Protection so that is more comprehensive.

Minister Shala and President Gashi also discussed the need for cooperation of various institutions regarding the conservation of cultural heritage in Kosovo, especially from deliberate destructions and damages.

At this meeting, they discussed about the preparations that Kosovo institutions are making for the application to UNESCO.

Meanwhile, President Gashi thanked Minister Shala for the support and also informed him about the condition of cultural heritage in Kosovo, the challenges facing the Council after functionalism, as well as the need for a general awareness for the preservation of cultural heritage in Kosovo.
