MCYS announced Cinematography prizes

Today, at the Cabinet of Minister Kujtim Shala, with a solemn ceremony, Minister Shala announced the national prize on Life’s Work "Bekim Fehmiu" and Annual Prize for Cinematography.

Besim Rexhaj, on behalf of the jury read the argumentation for prizes in question.

Annual Prize for Cinematography was awarded to the director, screenwriter and producer Agim Sopi and according to the jury, the award is given "to the extraordinary success of the movie "Agnus Dei ", which, with its content and its form, in a very special way deals with the last war drama in Kosovo"

Meanwhile, according to the jury, the National Prize on Life’s Work "Bekim Fehmiu" goes to the actor Xhevat Qorraj "for his multiple roles performed since the early 70s and onwards in different film works of local productions, as in most has played the role of the protagonist or the leading actor, which, like in the pre-war cinematography, as well as that after the war, based on local and international critics, have been accepted and assessed as creations of high artistic level."

At this ceremony, Xhevat Qorraj, thanking the ministry for the award said that this "is the most loving reward to me, because it holds the name of the great actor Bekim Fehmiu.

The prize "Bekim Fehmiu" that was given to the outstanding actor Xhevat Qorraj, according to the regulation, is rewarded with 5000 Euros. Meanwhile, the Annual Prize for Cinematography that went to the film director Agim Sopi for the movie "Agnus Dei", is rewarded with 2,500 Euros.

The jury that announced these awards was composed of Musa Ramadani, Lindita Zeqiraj, Bekim Lumi, Drita Krasniqi and Besim Rexhaj.
