Shala: Books strengthen the inter-Albanian cultural communication

Last night in Ulqin, was opened the Book Fair where participated numerous personalities of the political, institutional and cultural life of Montenegro, Kosovo and Albania.

At this great event of the Albanian culture and book in Montenegro, took part also the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Kujtim Shala, who, at the opening ceremony of the fair, among others mentioned the need to intensify intercultural cooperation between Albanian regions.

Minister Shala, in his speech emphasized the need to strengthen the culture of reading, and in this regard, fairs play an important role: "This fair is a meeting of creators, a meeting with new books, books of traditions of all fields, as well as it promotes the growth of reading culture, which is necessary for a modern society, "said Shala

Also, Minister Shala stressed the necessity of an intercultural cooperation between Albanians, especially the participation of publishers from all Albanian territories at events like this, "because in this way, the inter-Albanian cultural communication and joint efforts towards integration are strengthened" - said Shala.

In this regard, Minister Shala added that: "The Kosovo Government has initiated the achievement of an agreement with Montenegro, in order to increase and coordinate the cultural activities between the two countries, but also the formalization of relations, to make them more institutional, systematic and useful. "

Having emphasized the need of intensifying inter-Albanian cultural communication, Minister Shala mentioned the concrete actions undertaken by the MCYS to bring new opportunities for inter-Albanian cultural cooperation. He claimed that "the Kosovo Ministry of Culture is working to reach a Memorandum of cooperation with the National Council of Albanians in Montenegro, which will specify the cultural activities, for which the cultural institutions of Kosovo will help systematically and under an agreed agenda. "

Among others, Shala said that he also had a meeting with the leaders of this Council "We have agreed to work together for the benefit of institutional cultural activities."

Wrapping up his speech, Minister Shala stressed the need to work more for "as years ago, the book published in Kosovo and all Albanian territories to be distributed, in the Albanian territories in Montenegro, in public libraries and schools."

At the opening ceremony of the Ulqin Fair 2015, in addition to Minister Shala, also present were the president of the Albanian Parliament, Ilir Meta, Minister of Culture in Albania, Mirela Kumbaro, as well as the president of the Montenegrin Parliament, Ranko Krivokapic, Minister of Culture in Montenegro, Pavle Goranoviq and the writer Fatos Kongoli.
