Minister Shala welcomed the film director Visar Morina

Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Kujtim Shala, welcomed today in a meeting Visar Morina, director of the film "Babai" accompanied by the director of KCC, Arben Zharku, producer, Visar Krusha, actors Val Maloku, Astrit Kabashi and Adriana Matoshi.

Minister Shala congratulated the director, producer and actors for the successes achieved, and emphasized that the triumph of the film "Babai" in one of the biggest festivals in the world is an important event for the cinematography of Kosovo.

Also, Minister Shala pledged that MCYS will work in the future to increase the film budget. He said that with the new strategy for culture, will be created facilities for developing a more comprehensive and sustainable art and culture in Kosovo.

Director Visar Morina thanked Minister Shala for the reception and support. He also said that "this film and its success, comes after the support he has received from Kosovo. With the funds from Kosovo, we have managed to find other additional funds. "

The film "Babai" written and directed by Visar Morina in the 50th edition of the International Film Festival Karlovy Vary triumphed receiving two awards. At the awards ceremony in Karlovy Vary, this film won the award for best directing and Europa Cinemas Label award given by Europa Cinemas Network.

Also, with two premiers within a week, the German and worldwide premier, ‘Babai’ has won 6 awards which is an outstanding success for Kosovo.

The film "Babai" is supported by the Kosovo Cinematography Centre and the German film foundations as Film und Mediha Stiftung NRW, FFA Foundation, the foundation Nordmedia, then the Macedonian Film Fund, the French foundation Cinema Du Monde and the German public broadcaster WDR and the French-German public television ARTE, which is a product of NikoFilm, Germany, Production Krusha, Kosovo, Skopje Film Studio, Macedonia and Eaux Vives Productions, France.

The premiere of the film "Babai" will be shown in Kosovo at the beginning of September.
